A topological manifold of dimension $n$ is a topological space with the properties:

• It is Hausdorff

• It is second countable.

• It is locally euclidean of dimension $n$.

A smooth manifold is a topological manifold $M$ with a smooth structure (maximal atlas) $\mathcal{A}$.
